Simply Guitar review: price, free version and privacy

Our verdict

Pick Simply Guitar if you are starting from zero and want to play recognizable songs quickly with feedback. Players past the beginner stage, or anyone wary of tracking, should compare other options.

What Simply Guitar is

Simply Guitar, from the makers of Simply Piano, teaches guitar through songs and step-by-step video lessons. You place your iPhone in front of you and play; the description says the app recognizes what you play and tells you when you are right or need guidance. Lessons cover fundamentals, tabs, chords, chord switching and strumming, and a tuner is included.
