Pick Practice Portuguese if you need the Portuguese of Portugal: its free dialogues and grammar notes are worth trying before paying, and Premium adds the full A1 to B2 course. If you are learning for Brazil, or want a cheaper long-term price than $19.99 a month, look at other apps.

What Practice Portuguese is

Practice Portuguese teaches only European Portuguese, as spoken in Portugal. The description lists step-by-step units from A1 (beginner) to B2, grammar and culture "Learning Notes" with audio examples, and 800+ dialogues with translated subtitles, speed controls, vocabulary lists and comprehension quizzes. A Smart Review feature saves phrases to spaced-repetition flash cards, and a verb section drills conjugation. You can follow the units in order or jump to a topic such as ordering food or opening a bank account.

What the free version does

The description is unusually clear here. Free users get the Learning Notes on grammar and culture, the short dialogues ("Shorties"), videos and podcasts, offline audio with adjustable speed, and a preview of the Premium units. The structured lessons, full transcripts and translations, Smart Review and verb practice are behind Premium.

Price

On the US App Store in November 2026, the only item in the price list is "1 Month – Premium Membership" at $19.99. The description says the subscription renews automatically unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the period. No yearly or lifetime option appears in the list.

Privacy

The privacy label declares no tracking. The developer says contact info, user content, identifiers and usage data may be collected and linked to your identity, which fits an account-based course that saves your progress.

What the screenshots show

The screenshots show a fill-in-the-blank exercise ("A casa tem ___ de jantar?") with a photo, a play button and a slow-audio button, and a "listen and choose the correct phrase" question with a native speaker on video. A title screen shows a 4.9 Trustpilot score from 339 reviews, which is the developer's own claim.
