Piano Chords and Scales review: price, free version and privacy

Our verdict

This app is a fast, private reference for anyone learning chords, scales and theory at the piano. Beginners who need lessons and feedback on their playing should pair it with a course app.

What Piano Chords and Scales is

Piano Chords and Scales is a reference and theory tool rather than a course. It shows a large collection of chords, scales and progressions on a piano and a staff, and plays everything back. The description also lists a chord finder from notes, an interactive circle of fifths, a song composer that suggests chords for a chosen scale, fingerings for both hands and MIDI in and out.
